The township released three emergency 911 calls with workers saying part of the building was coming down and a man was trapped, “we got a guy, he’s hurt really bad,” one of the callers said.
Spokeswoman Barb Wilson said the man was rescued and transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. She said one exterior framed wall of a three-story apartment building collapsed at around 3 p.m.
On Wednesday she said no other information was available and OSHA is investigating.
The complex has been under construction for about 10 months.
In a statement, Fischer Homes said it will cooperate with officials and the worker’s employers to determine a cause.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the framing contractor working on-site at Towns of Wetherington, and we wish him a quick recovery,” the statement says.
